What are BDC Reports?

BDC reports are used to provide information on broadband availability and active subscribers to the Federal Communication Commission or FCC. This information allows the FCC to accurately pinpoint where broadband services are available and where they aren't. This document will go further into obtaining polygon coverage areas from CrowdFiber.

How can CrowdFiber help?

A report containing your active subscribers or subscription data can be generated via the Subscriptions Index while Serviceable Areas, commonly referred to as Availability Data, can be submitted via Locations or Zones.

Please be sure to note that: providers must submit broadband subscription data in the BDC system and are required to submit either polygon coverage areas or a list of locations that define the service area of the provider.

How to Generate Polygon Coverage Areas

FCC settings need to be configured for all zones you can provide services to. This can be completed in the zone record here:

Or in instances where you have multiple zones that have identical reporting criteria you can create a Zone Group and modify the reporting criteria there.

Here are the fields necessary for your reporting criteria:

Once you have the Reporting Criteria filled out, you'll be able to navigate back to your Zone index and generate your report using Bulk Actions > Download BDC GeoJSON:

The downloaded GeoJSON file is your Polygon Coverage Areas and can then be reviewed here https://geojson.crowdfiber.com/
