Address Data FAQ's
Is address/census information stored at the rooftop point within the boundary of a parcel when that information is exported?
- The data you see in your CrowdFiber Admin Dashboard is going to be the same data that appears in an export. Generally, CrowdFiber's data is based on the rooftop of an address.
- All of this data can be viewed on the Map page of the Admin Dashboard, where you can even use the satellite view option to confirm you are receiving reliable rooftop data
Where is address data sourced from initially and how often is it updated?
- The initial/core data comes from multiple vendors/sources and is updated every six months. CrowdFiber’s cross-checks with USPS data are updated monthly.
- CrowdFiber does not update the address data within a zone after the initial addresses are fetched. However, this can be manually done.

If the mailing address is separate from the physical address, i.e., with a P.O. box, is this differentiated in CrowdFiber?
- CrowdFiber provides physical address data, not PO Box data. However, users can upload their proprietary PO Box data into the platform.
- You can filter PO Boxes from the service address on the Address page of your Admin Dashboard.
- Mailing addresses and service addresses can be defined manually by the registrant during the registration prosses by initially searching the service address and then entering a mailing address into the Mailing Address form on the Contact Information panel.
-
Admin users can manually add multiple address types (i.e., service vs mailing addresses) to a single contact or order record.
Bulk imports of addresses are available on address records and contact records but not to order records.
Why do some addresses that are fetched by CrowdFiber have a +4 zip code, and some don't?
- Addresses that have a +4 zip are the addresses that have been verified by USPS data, the addresses that do not have a +4 zip are likely not mailable or CrowdFiber has identified a better match for that address.
