Create a Zone Strategy
How Many Zones Do I Need?
While this is a unique decision for every organization, it’s critical to understand that each zone you create in CrowdFiber is the foundation of a registration process. It is a unique data source and it is a geographic area that can be targeted through your CrowdFiber marketing activities.
To create a zone structure that will allow your team to process orders and track metrics efficiently within CrowdFiber, there are four things to keep in mind (each is listed below).
1) You Need a Unique User Experience
- A zone should be one geographic area where you can offer the same user experience to everyone who registers an address within that geographic area.
- Any time you need to provide a polygon with a unique user experience, you will need a unique zone.
A User Experience Includes:
- One registration process: one set of steps that gather registrant information.
- One message: identical messages are displayed in every registration.
- One survey: the same set of questions is asked during every registration process.
- One product and pricing structure per market (i.e., Residential, Commercial markets): the same selection of products and pricing is available to every user during every registration process.
-
You will need an additional zone for each geographic area that requires a unique offering of services and/or pricing.
You cannot offer products to some addresses in a zone but not others. If two addresses in the same market should not be offered the same products, they should not exist in the same zone.
2) Polygons Will Change to a Different Zone Type on Different Dates
- As described above, each zone provides one user experience You will need a unique zone for each geographic area that will start construction or start providing services on a unique date.
3) Exclusive Metrics Are Required in a Specific Geography
- Each zone has one set of metrics: the aggregation of all registration and address activity. A zone should be one geographic area where you would like to aggregate one set of metrics for all activity across the entire geographic area.
-
Any time you need to collect a unique set of metrics in a geographic area, you will need a unique zone.
Exclusive Metrics Include:
- Total addresses
- Total contacts
- Total leads (partially completed registrations)
- Total orders/registrations (fully completed registrations)
- Progress (Progress toward your demand goal, displayed as a percentage)
- Uptake (total amount of addresses in your zone that have placed an order via CrowdFiber, displayed as a percentage)
- Total monthly recurring revenue (total dollar amount of products purchased in CrowdFiber’s Bundle Builder/shopping cart - calculated by completed orders only)
4) Geographically Targeted Marketed Campaigns Are Necessary
- Each zone can be targeted with a unique marketing campaign through CrowdFiber.
-
Anytime you would like to send a marketing campaign to a specific geographic area, you will need to create a unique zone for the geographic area.
- Marketing Campaigns Include:
- Direct mail
